Mary Frances Ingle Carpenter
( November 7, 1935 - August 21, 2024 )
Mary Frances Ingle Carpenter, age 88, of Carolina Care in Cherryville, NC, and formerly of Lincolnton, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2024.
A funeral service for Mrs. Carpenter will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Lincolnton, NC, with Pastor Steven King officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:45 p.m. on Saturday at the church prior to the service.
Mrs. Carpenter was born November 7, 1935, in Lincoln County, NC, to the late Carr Raymond Ingle and Wilma Peeler Ingle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Kenneth Carpenter; brother, Robert Ingle; and sister, Annie Mae Ingle. Mary Frances was a lifelong member of Bethel Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the church choir. She enjoyed cooking and baking cakes for family and friends. Mrs. Carpenter worked at Comar Industries for many years. Later in life she became a lunchroom food server for Gaston and Lincoln County Schools.
Mrs. Carpenter is survived by her daughter, Sherry Fowler (Scott) of Lincolnton; grandson, Chris Fowler (Christine) of Dacula, GA; great-granddaughters, Lauralai and Jackie Fowler of Dacula, GA; sister-in-law, Frances McAlister; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church, Organ Fund, 509 Long Shoals Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
