Jack Franklin Black, Jr.

Jack Franklin Black, Jr., age 67, of Crouse School Road in Crouse, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024.  Mr. Black was born August 1, 1957, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, son of the late Jack Franklin Black, Sr. and Carolyn “Blanche” Smith Black.

Mr. Black is survived by his wife, Deborah Chapman Black of the home; daughters, Raven Nicole Donley (Daniel) of Mount Holly, NC, Dara “Jadie” Black-Lewis (Stephen) of Vale, NC, and Sheana Black Cook (Brent Matthew) of Vale, NC; brothers, Harold Dean Black of Lincolnton, NC, Michael Black, Sr. (Tonya) of Stoneville, NC, and David Black (Deanna) of Crouse, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Most notably, Mr. Black is survived by his beloved grandchildren who meant the world to him, Bailey Rose Lewis, Hannah Mae Lewis, Helena Grace Cook, Jackson Colt Cook, Texie Jane Cook, Astron Donley, Abraham Donley, Eden Donley, and Ranger Donley.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Black was preceded in death by his brothers, Timothy Black and Anthony Black; and sister, Aleta “Connie” Seagle.

A memorial service for Mr. Black will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Crouse, NC, with Pastor Rick Sloop officiating.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 3:45 p.m. Tuesday at the church prior to the service.
