Rodney Shawn "Rod" Collier
( September 15, 1970 - June 7, 2025 )
Rodney Shawn “Rod” Collier, age 54, of Cat Square Road in Vale, North Carolina, and formerly of Logan County, West Virginia, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2025. Rod was born September 15, 1970, in Huntington, West Virginia, son of Clifford and Merline Vance. Rod enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and riding his ATV.
In addition to his parents, those left to cherish Rod’s memory are his brothers, Brian Collier (Melinda) of Pecks Mill, WV, Greg Vance of Pecks Mill, WV, Bobby Collier (Becky) of Chapmanville, WV, and Sheldon Vance (Jennifer) of Charleston, WV; and special friend, Darren Pettry of Connelly Springs, NC, whom the family would like to thank for his friendship and help.
Rod was preceded in death by his daughter, Ellen Collier; and grandparents, Johnny and Kathleen Workman.
A private graveside service for Rod will be held with Bishop Danny Houser of Lincolnton Church of God officiating.
