Obituaries

Sarah Helen Gilbert Davis, age 87 of Regency Village Assisted Living in Charlotte, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2012.

Her funeral service will be 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug McClain officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.    The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 pm on Monday at Warlick Funeral Home.

Sarah Helen was born March 19, 1924 in Lincoln County to the late Mike and Bessie Hartsoe Gilbert.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Stowe Gilbert and one sister, Linda Boes.  She was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Charlotte. 

Survivors include two sons, Lanny Davis and wife Donna of Charlotte; Butch Davis of Fort Mill, SC; one daughter, Libby Hammock and husband Lynn of Dallas, GA; one granddaughter, Melissa Colvin and husband Justin of CA; one great-grandson, Nathaniel Colvin; two brothers, Ralph Gilbert and wife Jan of Sarasota, FL, Jim Gilbert of Lincolnton; three sisters, Judy Gilbert of Lincolnton, Mary Hoyle and husband James of Lincolnton, Jean Ritchie and husband Bill of Charlotte.
