Obituaries

Mr. Robert Thomas “Bob” Rush, Sr., age 82 of 289 Caprice Circle in Lincolnton, died on Sunday, January 29, 2012.

His funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Boger City United Methodist Church with Rev. Allan Van Meter and Rev. Joe Ervin officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mr. Rush was born November 6, 1929 in Moore County, NC to the late Baxter and Margaret Morrison Rush.   In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.   Mr. Rush worked as a car sales manager until retirement. 

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Lawing Rush of the home; four sons, Robert T. Rush, Jr. and wife Tracy of Ft. Mill, SC, Michael B. Rush and wife April of McDonough, GA, David E. Rush and wife Lisa of Charlotte, and Edward D. Houser of West Virginia; three daughters, Vicki Beaver and husband Hal of Atlanta, GA, Kelly Lineberger and husband Gene “Duke” of Lincolnton, and Kristy Williams and husband Patrick of Lincolnton; one brother, Mack Rush of Indian Trail; twenty-three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
