Richard Lee Bolen, age 69 of 987 Springs Road, Lincolnton, NC, died January 31, 2012 at Catawba Valley Medical Center after an extended illness.
His funeral service will be 11:00 am on Friday, February 3, 2012
at Emmanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Michael Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 am on Friday in the North Wing.
Born December 31, 1942 in Mount Clemens, Michigan to the late Raymond Odell Bolen and the late Anna Laurine O’Harron.
During his lifetime he was active in the Jaycees and other civic organizations. He was a long-time member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. He retired from JPS Converter and Industrial Corp. where he was a production supervisor.
Richard was a loving husband and devoted father. He is survived by wife Delores Burris Bolen of the home, son Richard Douglas Bolen of Pumpkin Center, daughter Angela Bolen Wilson and husband Dennis of Olin, one brother Dr. John J. Bolen of Bend, Oregon, brother-in-law Dr. Ray Lester Burris and wife Susan of Lincolnton, sister-in-law Greta Allison Burris of Newton, two grandchildren Mallory Taylor Bolen of Pumpkin Center and Andrew Bolen Wilson of Olin and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 216 S. Aspen Street, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
