Obituaries

Mr. Robert Rhyne Pollock, age 76 of 3741 Gastonia Highway in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, February 1, 2012.

His funeral service will be 11:00 am on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of High Shoals with Rev. Greg Hager and Rev. Charles Ingle officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pisgah United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The body will lie in state for thirty minutes prior to the service.  Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Friday, February 3, 2012 at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mr. Pollock was born February 9, 1935 in Lincoln County to the late Van Anthony and Alice Madora Rhyne Pollock.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Carswell Pollock and son, Jerry Pollock.  He worked as a supervisor for American Efird in Gastonia for 46 years.  He was a loving father and grandfather and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by two sons, Jeff Pollock of Townsend, MD and Jimmy Pollock and wife Stephanie Cook of Lincolnton; two daughters, Patricia P. Woody and husband Herman of Maiden and Peggy P. Smith and husband John of Newton; and four grandchildren, Justin Kyle Woody of Maiden, Christopher Robin Smith of Newton, Emily Marie Pollock and Jacob Van Pollock, both of Lincolnton.
