Obituaries

Mr. Robert James Helmer, age 64 of 895 Terra Cotta Drive in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, February 1, 2012.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 5, 2012 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends following the service.

Mr. Helmer was born November 14, 1947 in Herkimer, NY to the late Ralph “Red” and Wanda Pyc Helmer.  He worked for Specialty Metals.

He is survived by his wife, Lynn Pratt Helmer of the home; one son, Richard Woodward and wife Marlene of Lincolnton; one daughter, Beth Byrd and husband Kevin of Iron Station; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
