Obituaries

Mr. George Herbert Anker, III, age 47 of 110 Buck Horn Lane in Lawndale, died on Sunday, February 12, 2012.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at Daystar Church of God with Rev. Joey Williams officiating.   The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 pm prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Anker was born October 17, 1964 in Norfolk, VA to the late George H. Anker, Sr. and Phyllis Wyant McCroskey.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one grandchild, Jillian Rena Anker. He served in the National Guard.

He is survived by two sons, George H. Anker, IV of Lincolnton and Travis Ray Anker of Waco; two daughters, Mindy Lee Davis and husband Paul of Louisville, KY and Melissa Dawn Anker of Waco; a sister, Esther Murray and husband Douglas of Lincolnton; three brothers, Peter Hanke and wife Dixie of Missouri, Victor Hanke and wife Whitney of Crouse, and Barry Anker of Waco; four grandchildren, Jacob Lee Davis and Anna Jean Davis, Lillian Morgen-Ella Anker, and Logan Wyant Anker.
