Obituaries

Mr. Calvin Clifford Carlton age 87 of Willow Ridge of North Carolina in Rutherfordton and formerly of Lincolnton, NC passed away on Saturday March 3, 2012.

His funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday March 6, 2012 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ray Fancher officiating.  Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Tuesday at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mr. Carlton was born on January 31, 1925 in Anderson, SC and was the son of the late Thomas Wheeler and Maude Burden Carlton.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Poston Carlton.  He was a graduate of Clemson Agriculture College and was a retired textile engineer. Mr. Carlton was a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II and was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lincolnton, NC.

He is survived by two sons, Clifford “Sandy” Carlton and wife Donna of Shelby, NC and Rick S. Carlton and wife Janice of Ronda, NC; two brothers, Mack Carlton of Atlanta, GA and Dan Carlton of Anderson, SC; three grandchildren, Jenny Goss and husband Aron, Cayla Price and husband Josh, and Richard Carlton; two great grandsons, Caleb and Silas Goss.
