Mr. Walter Fred Drum, age 87, of 2573 East Highway 150, in Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, March 27, 2012.

His funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 30, 2012 at Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church with Dr. Stanley Spence officiating and Reverend Ken Jones

assisting. The body will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 29 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mr. Drum was born on July 04, 1924 in Catawba County to the late Phillip Houston Drum and Florence Novella Black Drum. He retired from Magic Cleaners in Lincolnton.

He is survived by a daughter, Linda Drum Schultz, granddaughter, Sheri Taylor Ashley, and great grandson, Peyton Ashley of Lincolnton; two sisters, Marilyn Gabriel of Sherrills Ford and Naomi Josey of Little Mountain. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mamie Sue Drum.

The family will be at the home of Mike and Linda Schultz, 618 South Aspen Street in Lincolnton.
