Mr. Ricky James Spake, age 51 of 525 Fran Avenue in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, March 28, 2012.
His funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Lincolnton with Rev. Dr. Stanley Spence officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Friday, March 30, 2012 at First Baptist Church. At other times, the family will be at the home of his daughter, Lauren S. Putnam at 2578 Laboratory Road in Lincolnton.
Mr. Spake was born May 18, 1960 in Lincoln County to the late James Thomas and Frances Huffstetler Spake. He was the owner of Metrolina Fire and Rescue, Inc. Mr. Spake served his community as a fireman with the Boger City Fire Department from which he retired, served in Emergency Management for Lincoln County, served as a detective for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department, and was a member of First Baptist Church. Rick was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. He had a passion for sales and marketing and was a hard worker his whole life. He is survived by two daughters, Lauren Spake Putnam and husband Bradley, and Madison Spake, all of Lincolnton; his fiancé, Lou Anne White of Kernersville; three sisters, Brenda Dellinger and husband Johnny, Trudy Hoffman and husband Gary, and Sue Black and her late husband Mike, all of Lincolnton; two grandchildren, Kirsten Putnam and Kamryn Putnam.
