Obituaries

Nellie Buchanan Bumgarner, age 92 of Alexandria Place in Gastonia, and formerly of Marietta, GA, died on Wednesday, March 28, 2012.

A private graveside service will be held.

Mrs. Bumgarner was born July 15, 1919 in Durham, NC to the late Jesse and Minnie Rhodes Buchanan.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Fred L. Bumgarner.  She was a homemaker.

She is survived by a daughter, Anice Bumgarner Lawing of Cherryville; two granddaughters, Laura Helms and Tricia Thornton, both of Cherryville; and two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Brandon Helms.
