Obituaries

Peggy Leatherman Thurman, age 54 of Vale, died on Tuesday, April 10, 2012. 

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 13, 2012 at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Caren Bigelow Morgan officiating.   At other times, the family will be at the home of Lewis and Yvonne Leatherman.

Ms. Thurman was born June 9, 1957 in Lincoln County to Lewis and Yvonne Keener Leatherman.  She graduated from West Lincoln High School in 1975 and then worked as a certified medical assistant for Lincoln Internal Medicine.  

She is survived by a daughter, Holly Gilliam and husband Douglas Gilliam, Jr. of Vale; two brothers, Bobby Leatherman and wife Joann of Springhill, TN and Johnny Leatherman of Vale; parents, Lewis and Yvonne Leatherman of Vale; one grandson, R.J. Gilliam of Vale; and a nephew, Robert Leatherman of San Antonio, TX; and two nieces, Joanna Leatherman of Springhill, TN and Candice McCabe of Ft. Bragg, NC.
