Obituaries

Bertha Louise Ledford Hester, age 70, of 1505-1 Laboratory Road in Lincolnton, died on Thursday, April 19, 2012.

Her funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Sunday, April 22, 2012 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Greg Hager officiating.   Burial will follow in the Hester Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hester was born March 20, 1942 in Lincoln County to the late Augustus Burns and Fannie Elizabeth Carpenter Ledford.   In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Vance Hester, and a son, Victor Allen Hester.  She worked in textiles.

She is survived by a son, Walter Eugene Hester of Pumpkin Center; two daughters, Patricia Louise Powell and husband Joe, and Vicky Elizabeth Bowman and husband Dennis all of Lincolnton; two brothers, Gene Ledford of Cherryville and Clyde Ledford of Lincolnton; four grandchildren, Katherine Suzanne Culberth, Ashley Bowman, Dustin Hester, and Kendall Hester; and two great-grandchildren, Samantha Culberth and Kylie Hester.
