Mrs. Mildred Ross King, age 97, of Charlotte Health Care Center, and formerly of 7481 Forney Hill Road in Denver, died on Friday, April 27, 2012.
Her funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Sunday, April 29, 2012 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Killian officiating. Burial will follow in the Denver United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. King was born March 6, 1915 in Gaston County to the late Benjamin and Pearl Hefner Ross. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ernest King and brothers, Grady Ross, Henry Ross, Benjamin Ross and Fred Ross, sisters, Elizabeth Ross and Nell Rhodes. Mrs. King was known as “King” to many children in the community. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by a son, Howard King of Denver; two daughters, Diane King of Charlotte and Wanda King of Gastonia; three brothers, Robert Ross of Vale, Floyd Ross of Shelby, and John Ross of Lincolnton; one sister, Frances Ballanger of Lincolnton; and all of King’s Kids.
