Obituaries

Mrs. Virginia Smith Lee, age 92, of Alexandria Place, Gastonia and formerly of Lincoln County, died Saturday, April 28, 2012.

Her funeral will be 3:00 p.m. Monday, April 30, 2012 at Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Randy Setzer, Rev. Ken Gibson and Rev. Bill Abrams officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. Monday at Macedonia Baptist Church.

Mrs. Lee was born on September 22, 1919 and was the daughter of the late Finley L. and Firby Estelle Miller Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Wilson Lee and her daughter, Janice L. Snare.  She was a retired sales clerk.

Mrs. Lee is survived by her son, Barron Lee and wife, Carolyn of Dallas, NC; four grandchildren, Lewis Snare and Eric Snare of Tasmania, Australia, Whitney Lee of Jefferson City, TN, Lauren Dixon and husband, Mark of Gastonia; two great-granddaughters, Anna Grace Dixon and Ansley Kate Dixon.
