Obituaries

Mr. John Jay Loomis, age 89, of 3175 Loomis Street in Lincolnton, died on Sunday, April 29, 2012. 

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 4, 2012 at Boger City United Methodist Church with Rev. Alan Van Meter and Rev. Dwight Loomis officiating.   The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 am prior to the service at the church.  A graveside service will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Mr. Loomis was born June 30, 1922 in DeRidder, Louisiana of Beauregard Parish to the late John Bernard and Edna Grimsley Loomis.  He served in the United States Army and was known as a trouble shooter and fixer. 

He is survived by two sons, Rev. Dwight Loomis of Wesley Chapel, FL and Bryan Loomis of the home; four grandchildren, Erik and Patrick Loomis and Michael and Jonathan Loomis; and two great-grandchildren, Christopher and Hannah Loomis.
