Obituaries

Mr. Robert Lewis Perkins, Sr., age 70, of 4134 Red Oak Lane in Iron Station, died on Saturday, May 5, 2012. 

A memorial service will be held at 7:00pm on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Mt. Holly Revival Tabernacle with Pastor John Mayberry officiating.   The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 pm prior to the service at the church. 

Mr. Perkins was born February 25, 1942 in Gaston County to the late Lewis McDonald and Ibera Marshall Perkins.  He worked in textiles.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Childers Perkins of the home; four sons, Keith Perkins and Dwight Perkins of Gastonia, Robert Perkins, Jr. of the home and Greg Whisnant of Lincolnton; three daughters, Tammy Cash of GA, Donna Haskin of Gastonia, Crystal Mullis of Kannapolis; two sisters, Rose Riding of Mt. Holly and Alda Wheeler of Union, SC; twenty grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.
