Obituaries

Mimi Marie Kinneer Oates, age 39, of Hickory Nut Lane in Lincolnton, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, May 27, 2012.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 31, 2012 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Swanson officiating.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 12:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Oates was born August 27, 1972 in Denver, Colorado to Philip Gary and Marie Wilkins Kinneer.  She worked for Broome Insurance Company. 

She is survived by her best friend and husband, John David Oates, Sr. of the home; beloved son, Jonathan Oates, Jr. of the home; her parents, Philip and Marie Kinneer of Cleveland, GA; sisters, Dianne Montgomery and husband Alan of Snellville, GA and Eve Hawthorne and husband Andrew of Rock Hill, SC; two brothers, John Kinneer and wife Whitney of Raleigh, NC, and Philip Kinneer and wife Patty of Cummings, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the savings account in the name of Jonathan Oates, Jr., Education Fund, at any First National Bank of Shelby location or via mail to 2317 E. Main Street, Lincolnton, NC  28092.
