Waymon Hooper, 91 of Lincolnton, passed away peacefully at his home Monday, June 11, 2012. He was born in Buckhead, GA to George and Effie Hooper. He was a retired farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Rachel of 67 years, and a daughter Jill Hooper. Waymon is survived by six daughters, Crystal Lovingood and husband Bill of the home, Linda Dugan and husband Mike, Debbie Beam and husband Bill, Pam Norris and husband Joey, Kim Morrow and husband Lynn, and Cynthia Hooper Patterson; twelve grandchildren, Jennifer Hobgood and husband Tom, Shane Beam and wife Wendy, Jason Beam and wife Lisa, Chance Beam and wife Christine, Joy Beam Burns, Ashley Manus and husband Brandon, Chuck Norris, Bradley and Brittney Morrow, Kelby Costner, Drew Patterson, and Hunter McSwain; eight great-grandchildren; sisters Jean Propst of Sherrills Ford and Nervieleen Jackson of Marietta, GA. The family is especially grateful for their father’s special caregiver, Bobbie Christopher of Lincolnton.
The family will have a private graveside service with Rev. W. Ray Pennell officiating. They will receive friends at the Hooper home on Wednesday from 3:00 until 7:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Lincoln County, 107 N. Cedar Street, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
