Mr. Donald Duyrant Frye, age 81, of 1097 W. Highway 150 in Lincolnton, died on Monday, July 2, 2012.
His funeral service will be 11:00 am on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. David Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 until 10:45 am at the church.
Mr. Frye was born November 2, 1930 in Catawba County to the late Clarence F. and Vada Watts Frye. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Dedmon Frye, as well as two brothers. He served in the United States Army and then later worked as a brick mason. Mr. Frye was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
He is survived by four sons, Douglas D. Frye of Hickory, Frank McSwain and Wally McSwain Lincolnton, and Marshall Forrester of Mt. Pleasant, SC; two daughters, Debra Teter Frye of Tuscon, AZ and Saundra Smith of Lawndale; three sisters, Kletus Warren, Deloros Craig, and Doris Laws, all of Hickory; eleven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
