Obituaries

Mr. Charles Odell Whitlock, age 90, of 83 Indigo Lane in Goose Creek, SC, and formerly of Hickory, NC died on Friday, July 13, 2012.

His funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Monday, July 16, 2012 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel.   Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Whitlock was born March 31, 1922 in Lincoln County to the late Labin Whitlock and Lucy Camp Whitlock Sellers.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his step-father, Arthur Sellers.  Mr. Whitlock served in the United States Army ATC and was a veteran of World War II.  He retired from Flowers Auto Parts in Hickory. 

He is survived by his wife, Grace Denton Whitlock of Goose Creek, SC; one son, Charles “Buddy” O. Whitlock, Jr. and wife Carolyn of Hickory, NC; two daughters, Sandy W. Young and husband Bob of Goose Creek, SC, and Peggy W. Warstler and husband C.J. of Charlotte, NC; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
