Obituaries

Marie Sain Caldwell, age 78, of 1259 North Hill Drive in Lincolnton, died on Sunday, August 19, 2012.

Her funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Jones officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  The body will lie in state for thirty minutes prior to the service.  Visitation will be from 6:30 until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Warlick Funeral Home. 

Mrs. Caldwell was born October 30, 1933 in Catawba County to the late Paul Andrew and Edith Wilson Sain. 

She is survived by her husband, Walter Elliott Caldwell of the home; two sons, Andy Sain Caldwell and wife Kim of Lincolnton and Roger Elliott Caldwell and wife Ann of Belmont; one brother, Larry Sain of Lincolnton; one sister, Wanda Hines of Lincolnton; two grandchildren, Crystal Frost and Nicki Cahoon; one great-grandchild, Austin Cahoon; brother-in-law, Rev. Ray Caldwell of Boiling Springs, SC; two sisters-in-law, Polly Beal of Monroe and Linda R. Sain of Lincolnton; aunt, Mary Abernathy of Vale; and a number of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. 

The family would like to recognize her classmates of Union High School Class of 1951, and her Sunday School class at Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church where she was a member  Both of these groups were a large part of her life.
