Obituaries

Mr. Frank Barnette, age 80, of Charlotte, NC passed away on Monday, August 20, 2012.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Cook’s Presbyterian Church in Charlotte with Rev. Dr. Stanley Spence officiating.  At other times, the family will be at the home of his daughter, Kathy Valentine at 1447 Arden Oaks Drive in Lincolnton.  

Mr. Barnette was born October 13, 1931 in Mecklenburg County to the late Robert Frank and Mary McCall Barnette. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara H. Barnette, brothers Dolly Barnette and Robert F. Barnette, and a sister, Ella Mae Barnette.  He retired from A.G. Boone, Co. after 33 years of service.

He is survived by two sons, Richard Barnette and wife Fini of Lincolnton and Randy Barnette and wife Debbie of Thomasville; one daughter, Kathy Valentine and husband Steve of Lincolnton; one sister, Mary Barnette Coffey and husband John of Charlotte; seven grandchildren, Scott Barnette and wife Meredith, Joseph Barnette and wife Kim, Drew Barnette, Braxton Barnette and wife Shelley, Allison Barnette, Tim Valentine and wife Karen, and Tavia V. Stearns; and seven great-grandchildren.
