Obituaries

Barbara “Bobbie” Broome Mauney, age 80 of the Brian Center, and formerly of 173 Salem Church Road in Lincolnton, died on Monday, August 27, 2012.

Her funeral service will be 11:00 am on Thursday, August 30, 2012 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Redding officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:30 pm on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Warlick Funeral Home. 

Mrs. Mauney was born August 31, 1931 in Lincoln County to the late Robert Reese and Clarice Cornelius Sanders Broome.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Claude Junior Mauney. 

She is survived by two daughters, Gail Little and husband Smitty of Lincolnton and Kathey Cox and husband Craig of Pineville; two sons, Jay Mauney and wife Sandra of Lincolnton and Jeff Mauney and wife Sara of Quito, Ecuador; ten grandchildren, Danielle Ryan and husband Evan, Jessica Little, Stephanie Sutter and husband Chip, Christopher Rosser, Tyler Cox, Evan Cox, John Mauney, Daniel Mauney, Jason Huitt and wife Christina, and Brian Huitt and wife Teresa; and five great-grandchildren. 

Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
