Obituaries

Mr. Ernest Cline Snipes, age 75, of 975 McRee Road in Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, September 4, 2012.

His funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at Boger City Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Stanley Spence officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 pm prior to the service at the church.  

Mr. Snipes was born June 19, 1937 in Lincoln County to Lois Cline Snipes and the late Samuel Esley Snipes.  He served in the United States Marine Reserves and then worked as a salesman. 

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Rutledge Snipes of the home; three daughters, Ellen Smith and husband Steve of Laurinburg, Ann Ballard Quinn and husband Mark of Kernersville, and Kelly Johnson and husband Tim of Lincolnton; his mother, Lois Cline Snipes; one brother, Jacel Snipes of Sherrills Ford; and five grandchildren, Andrew and Daniel Smith, Lindsey and Bonnie Ballard, and Noah Johnson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Boger City Baptist Church Building Fund, 2201 E. Main Street, Lincolnton, NC  28092.
