Obituaries

Mrs. Helen Saine Turner, age 92, of Carolina Care in Cherryville and formerly of Lincolnton died Sunday, September 16, 2012.

Her funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Boger City United Methodist Church with Rev. Allan Van Meter and Rev. Joe Ervin officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincolnton.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mrs. Turner was born January 3, 1920 in Lincoln County and was the daughter of the late Marvin Forest and Mary Lutz Sain.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ernest R. Turner and two brothers, T.E. Sain and George Sain .  Mrs. Turner was retired from the dress shop, Alda Crowe in Lincolnton. She was a life long member of Boger City United Methodist Church.

She is survived by three sons, Bob Turner and wife, Melissa of Glade Spring, VA, Ronald Turner and wife, Sarah of Zebulon, NC and Lawrence David Turner and wife, Kay of Cherryville, NC; one daughter, Carolyn Summer and husband, Larry of Cherryville, NC; one sister, Taltha Scronce of Vale, NC; fifteen grandchildren, Tanya Bridges and husband Mike, Darcia Munro and husband David, Casey Bledsoe and wife Tori, Ben Bledsoe and wife Judith, Ginger Carroll, Ronda Turner, Ronnie Turner and wife Nancy, Scott Turner and wife Inga, Julie Harrell and husband Herb, Tom Summer and wife Sharon, Cindy Summer, Cathy Smiley and husband Jeff, David Turner and wife Amy, Elizabeth Jagielski and husband Jerry, Millicent Heavner and husband Scotty; twenty-three great grandchildren and one soon to be arriving great-great grandchild.
