Obituaries

Dr. Darrell Edward Schrum age 67, of 636 West Park Drive in Lincolnton died Saturday, September 22, 2012.

Dr. Schrum was born on October 25, 1944 in Buncombe County. His parents, Howard and Geraldine Lanier Schrum preceded him in death. Dr. Schrum practiced family dentistry in Lincolnton for 38 years prior to his retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Puett Schrum of the home; son, John Schrum and spouse, Brook Holland Schrum of Augusta, Georgia; daughter Angela Schrum and spouse, Martin Werley of Mount Pleasant, SC; two grandsons, Mack and William Schrum; brothers, Marvin Schrum of Charlotte and Jesse Schrum of Alexandria, VA.

A private service will be held on Monday, September 24, 2012. The family will receive friends on Monday from 7:00pm until 9:00pm in the Fellowship Building at First United Methodist Church , 201 E. Main Street, Lincolnton, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 107 N. Cedar Street, Lincolnton, NC  28092.
