Obituaries

Mr. Samuel Edgar Byers, Sr., age 81 of 4928 Grigg Road in Lincolnton died on Saturday, September 22, 2012.

His funeral service will be 11:00 am on Friday, September 28, 2012        at Messiah United Methodist Church with Rev. Kevin Miller and Rev. Joe Ervin officiating.   Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Warlick Funeral Home. 

Mr. Byers was born May 27, 1931 in Lincoln County to the late Lee Marion and Minnie Sain Byers.   In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Inez Sarah Chapman Byers.  He was a retired salesman for American Parts.

He is survived three sons, Samuel Edgar Byers, Jr. and wife Cara of Crouse, John David Byers of Jensen Beach, FL, William Edgar Byers of the home; three sisters, Katherine Avery, Mary Lee Avery and Sue Jane Sides all of Lincolnton; six grandchildren, Jacey, Kaitie, Cassandra, Jackie, Laura and Sara Byers.
