Obituaries

Ola Mae Ridley Canipe, age 85, of Cardinal Care, and formerly of 1764 Powerline Road in Lincolnton, died on Thursday, September 27, 2012.

Her funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at South River Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Chapman and Rev. Justin Houser officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 pm prior to the service at the church. 

Mrs. Canipe was born June 8, 1927 in Georgia to the late George Ridley and Dollie Walker Satterfield.   In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, George Elliott Canipe and two daughters, Andrea Sain and Cheryl Canipe.  She worked in textiles.

She is survived by two sons, Nicky Canipe of Wallace, NC and Dennis Canipe of Lincolnton; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
