Obituaries

Mr. Max Ellison Hamrick, age 83, of 2673 Gates Road in Lincolnton, died on Sunday, October 7, 2012.

His funeral will be 7:00 pm on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. D. R. Shortridge officiating.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 pm on Tuesday prior to the service at Warlick Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am at Hollybrook Cemetery.

Mr. Hamrick was born August 28, 1929 in Cleveland County to the late Oscar Lee and Nettie Lee Frady Hamrick.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Essie Mabel Mace Hamrick.  Mr. Hamrick was retired from textiles after 40 years.  He enjoyed fishing and playing cards.

Survivors include one son, Larry Hamrick and wife Kay of Lincolnton; one granddaughter, Beth Hilburn and husband Mitchell of McAdenville; one grandson, Michael Hamrick and wife Darci of Davidson; great grandchildren, Cydney and Dalton Snipes of McAdenville, Lincoln Hamrick of Davidson; great-step grandchildren, Mitchell Hilburn, Jr. and wife Rhonda of Gastonia, Jasmine Lomas and Hailey Lomas of Davidson; two sisters, Billie Treadway of Lincolnton, Betty McCraney and husband Claude of Gastonia, and numerous nieces and nephews.
