Marcelee Coffey Barnes, age 85, of 1662 Dickinson Road in Hickory, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, October 9, 2012.
Her funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Friday, October 12, 2012 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Payne officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Barnes was born March 27, 1927 in Caldwell County to the late George and Ida Norman Coffey. In addition, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Lee Barnes, and eight children. She worked as a knitter.
She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Booth of Newton and Janet Coss of Iron Station; one brother, Shuford Coffey of Lenoir; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
