Obituaries

On October 9, 2012 our beloved Ann went home to be with our Lord.  She was a gentle loving person that will be missed.

Ann was born to George Stevenson Houk and Mattie Bridges Houk on December 1, 1933.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Roy Houk; sisters Dorothy Hatchett and Betty Gantt; and her former husband, Boyd McCurry. 

Left to cherish her memory are the loves of her life and her family: sons Steve (wife Jamie) of Sherrills Ford, Tim of Maiden, NC, and Mike (wife Lynn) of Sherrills Ford.  Her grandchildren: Stephanie Boggs (husband Jason), Dana Plonk (husband Matt), Lauryn Fletcher (husband Patrick), Sheldon McCurry, Andrew McCurry, and Brady McCurry.  Her great-grandsons were her life and joy, David and Jonah Boggs and Cooper Plonk. 

Visitation will be Friday, October 12, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Warlick Funeral Home in Lincolnton.  A memorial service will be Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 11:00 am at Rehobeth United Methodist Church in Terrell, NC with inurnment to follow in the church cemetery.  At other times, the family will be at her home at 8160 Sherrills Ford Road in Sherrills Ford.
