Obituaries

Mary Elizabeth Huss Leatherman, age 89, of 1064 Shoal Road in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, October 10, 2012.

Her funeral service will be 3:00 pm on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Bethphage Lutheran Church with Rev. Fred Mitschke officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 pm on Friday, October 12, 2012 at Warlick Funeral Home. 

Mrs. Leatherman was born January 1, 1923 in Lincoln County to the late Chesley and Vangie Peeler Huss.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James T. Leatherman, Jr. She worked as a cook at West Lincoln Senior High School.   

She is survived by two sons, James Leatherman of Crouse and Joe Leatherman of Lincolnton; one brother, Ralph Huss of Lincolnton; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
