Obituaries

Earnest Walter Rudisill, age 85, of Lincolnton, died on Thursday, October 11, 2012.

His funeral service will be 4:00 pm on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at Highland Drive Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Justice officiating.   Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 3:45 pm prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Rudisill was born March 15, 1927 in Lincoln County to the late Zero Pinkney and Geneva Rodgers Rudisill. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by brothers Harold and John, and sisters, Gail and Sarah.   Mr. Rudisill worked in textiles.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Jones Rudisill of the home; a son, Gary Walter Rudisill of Lincolnton; a daughter, Shirley Graham of Gastonia; five brothers, Buck Rudisill of Gastonia, Fred Rudisill, Walt Rudisill, Roger Rudisill, and Jim Rudisill of Dallas; three sisters, Mildred “Sis” Dellinger and Betty Herms both of Ranlo, and Martha Hovis of Vale; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
