Obituaries

Elizabeth “Lib” Scronce Hoover, age 85, of Hoover Elmore Road in Vale, died on Tuesday, October 16, 2012.

Her funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor John Locke officiating.   Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Friday, October 19, 2012 at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hoover was born November 16, 1926 in Lincoln County to the late Frank and Vernie Leonard Scronce.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Thomas Hoover, five brothers, Ray, Hal, Dan, Jack and Ben Scronce, and a daughter-in-law, Donna Hoover. She retired from Cochrane Furniture Company.

She is survived by two sons, Charlie Hoover and Benny Hoover and wife Keko, all of Vale; three brothers, Lester Scronce of Connelly Springs, Bill Scronce of Asheville, and Bob Scronce of Crouse; a sister, Betty Jane Sain of Vale; two grandchildren, Eric Hoover and wife Denese and Kelly Hoover and wife Laurie, all of Hickory; and three great-grandchildren, Ben Underwood, Halley Underwood, and Cole Hoover, all of Hickory.
