Obituaries

Mr. David Giles Foster passed away on October 17, 2012 at Gaston Memorial Hospital. 

His funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 21, 2012 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Ingle and Rev. Dick Whitener officiating.   Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery with military rites.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Warlick Funeral Home.  

Mr. Foster was the son of the late Russell Bryan Foster and Jenelle High Foster of High Shoals.  He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and then later worked at Burlington Industries and retired from Sonoco.  He was a loving father, grandfather, Korean Vet, and member of High Shoals Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth Cloninger Foster; a son, Steven David Foster and wife Teresa of Huntsville, AL; two daughters, Susan Foster Ray and Teresa Foster Cash, all of Lincolnton; sister, Mary Frances Hovis of Lincolnton; four grandchildren, Rachael Foster of Huntsville, AL, Shane Pegram, Natasha Mitchell, and Ashley Ray, all of Lincolnton; and eight great-grandchildren, Dillon, Gage, Kalob, Jesse, Dallas, Shauna, Katie, and Aleigha, all of Lincolnton.
