Obituaries

Mr. Donald A. McGinnis, age 84, passed away peacefully Sunday morning.  

His funeral service will be 3:00 pm on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Mike Collins officiating.  Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1:30 until 2:45 pm in the North Wing of the church.

He was a graduate of Lincolnton High School and received his degree from Lenoir-Rhyne College.  Donald serviced in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  He was president and owner of McGinnis Tire and Real Estate. He was a member of the Lincolnton Country Club and a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. 

He is survived by his wife, Shirley J. McGinnis; aunt, Wilma McGinnis of Lincolnton; cousins; and dear friends, Shirley and Gwen Drum.
