Obituaries

Mrs. Catherine Lucille Gibson Thomas, age 90, of 5 Circle Drive in Lincolnton, died on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at her home.

Her funeral will be 2:00 pm on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jack Calloway officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 pm on Tuesday prior to the service at Warlick Funeral Home. 

Mrs. Thomas was born and raised in Gaston on August 2, 1922, daughter of the late D.G. and Hattie Hass Gibson.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Thomas, two sons, Michael and Bruce, one grandson, Mickey, and one great-grandson, Rickey, four brothers and one sister.  After retiring from the textile industry of many years, she stayed busy working in her yard that was always beautiful and everyone praised.

She is survived by three daughters, Bobbie Black of the home, Nancy Grigg and husband Donald of Iron Station, Linda Richard and husband Ambruse of Lincolnton; two sons, Tony Thomas of Lincolnton and Danny Thomas and fiancé’ Tresia of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
