Obituaries

Mr. David Reece Hicks, age 65, of 3433 E. Highway 27, Lincolnton went to be with the Lord Saturday, November 03, 2012.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Trinity Assembly of God in Bessemer City with Rev. Lee Russell and Rev. Leroy Easler officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Hicks was born April 22, 1947 in Gaffney, SC to Carroll Reece Hicks and the late Bessie Gentry Hicks.  He was in the construction business for thirty-five years.  He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving in the Vietnam War.  Mr. Hicks enjoyed reading, camping and traveling.

He is survived by his wife, Suanne H. Hicks of the home; his father, Carroll Hicks and step-mother, Doris Hicks of Mt. Holly; two sons, David Michael Hicks of Belmont and Henry Sickler of Alexis; three daughters, Kristen Hicks of Pittsboro, Kelly Hicks of Novi, Michigan and Dee Davis of Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania; one brother, James Hicks and wife Judy, of Iron Station; two sisters, Marie Revels of Stanley, Marsha Morgan and husband Ken, of Bessemer City; six grandchildren and one great-grandson.
