Obituaries

Sybil Joyce Abernathy Alexander Beaver, age 85, of 2912 Loviee Road in Lincolnton, died on Monday, November 26, 2012.

Her funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wiggins officiating.  Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. 

Mrs. Beaver was born May 30, 1927 in Lincoln County to the late Edgar “Ed” and Flossie Havner Abernathy.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, J.C. Alexander.  She was retired from Carolina Freight where she worked as an executive secretary.

She is survived by her husband, Carl Lee Beaver of the home; two sons, Chuck Alexander and wife Sandra of Sherrills Ford and Gary Alexander of Lincolnton; three step-daughters, Donna Huffman and husband Rick of Maiden, Debbie Goodwin and husband Paul of Conover, and Denise Lopez and husband Francisco of Hickory; one grandchild, Shane Alexander and wife Sherry of Denver; ten step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Catawba Valley, Sherrills Ford Unit, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC  28658.
