Obituaries

Helena Louise Phillips Jones, age 64, of 6717 Charleston Trail in Cherryville, died on Thursday, December 6, 2012.

Her funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at the West Side House of Prayer with Rev. Todd Auton officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 pm on Sunday prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Jones was born July 20, 1947 in Washington, DC to the late Richard Guy and Louise Elizabeth Reed Phillips.  She loved to crochet, watch classic movies, her church, her flowers, and her dogs. 

She is survived by four daughters, Terrie and Todd Ratliff of Hudson, FL, Cissy and Charlie Miller and Lea and Johnny Garland, all of Johnson City, TN; and Jo and Pete Osatchuck of Cherryville; one son, Chris and Robin Randall of Cherryville, NC; one sister, Karen Lynneettee Smith of Morganton, NC; ten grandchildren, Heather Bollinger, Shannon Bollinger, Cody Miller, Dustin Fleming, Dalton Fleming, Stephanie Ford, Timothy Ford, Allen Fredell, Trey Lail, and Holly Carpenter; eight great-grandchildren, Olivia Johnston, Cadance Stafford, Braylon Stafford, Livia Fredell, Dallas Fredell, Joseph Fredell, Jayda Sigmon, and Dylon Carpenter; and special friend, Harry Letchworth.
