Obituaries

Polly Sherrill Heavner, age 82, of 489 Alf Hoover Road in Lincolnton, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 12, 2012.

Her funeral service will be 3:00 pm on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Bethphage Lutheran Church with Pastor Fred Mitschke officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 until 2:45 pm on Saturday. 

Mrs. Heavner was born May 30, 1930 in Catawba County to the late Harry and Nancy White Sherrill.   She worked as a secretary for Lincoln County Schools.  

She is survived by her husband, M.S. Heavner of the home; one son, Joel D. Heavner and wife Bambi of Lincolnton; two daughters, Lisa Jan Brady and husband Kevin of Sherrills Ford and LouAnn Huffman and husband Jeff of Denver; one sister, Sue Lutz and husband Thad of Terrell; one sister-in-law, Nell Sherrill of Sherrills Ford; seven grandchildren, Seth and wife Jeana Heavner, Kirk and wife Tara Heavner, Joanna and husband Matt Hovis, Collin Brady, Austin Brady, Fallon Huffman, and Carley Huffman; and two great-grandsons, Miles Heavner and Brennan Heavner.
