Mrs. Velma Bumgarner Mode, age 87, of 125 Reid Street in Lincolnton died on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at the Stanley Total Living Center.
Her funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Monday, December 17, 2012 at Reepsville Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Hull officiating. Her body will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Sunday at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mrs. Mode was born November 21, 1925 in Cleveland County to the late Lonnie and Bertha Evans Bumgarner. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Everette Mode and one son Sam Mode; brothers, Roy Propst, Lee Bumgarner, Clyde Bumgarner and Buford Bumgarner; sisters, Merle B. Jarrett and Blonnie P. Oxford. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include one daughter, Jackie Pendleton and husband Bill of Lincolnton; four grandchildren, Everette Mode, Michelle Frady, Clint Pendleton and Casey Pendleton; five great-grandchildren.
