Obituaries

Mrs. Sadie Newton Beam, age 81, of 7538 Blackwelder Road in Denver and formerly of Lincolnton died on Saturday, December 22, 2012.

Her funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Friday, December 28, 2012 at Denver United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Johnsen officiating.   Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 pm prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Beam was born June 10, 1931 in Cleveland County to the late William Marvin and Zula Mae Cooke Newton.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Carroll Beam.  She was an accountant in the automotive industry.  

Mrs. Beam loved shopping, reading and spending time with her family.

Survivors include three daughters: Deborah Shelley and husband Adrian of Houston, TX; Sandra Braswell and husband Joe of Little River, SC; Karen Helms and husband Kenny of Denver, NC; five grandchildren: Marty Abernathy and wife Amy, Dusty Abernathy, Lauren Shelley, Ade Shelley and wife Ashley; Angela Hoyle and husband Wesley; four great grandchildren: Miller Hoyle, EmmaLeigh Hoyle, Brody Abernathy and Bella Burba.
