Obituaries

Rachel Elmore Brackett, age 81, of 2610 Brookwood Road in Lincolnton, died on Monday, December 31, 2012.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Dale Justice officiating.   The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Warlick Funeral Home. 

Mrs. Brackett was born August 18, 1931 in Lincoln County to the late Arthur Henry and Yula Canipe Elmore.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, William Douglas Brackett.  She worked in textiles.

She is survived by a son, William Timothy Brackett; a daughter, Brenda Brackett Rippy and husband Sheldon Wineberg; a sister, Willie Mae Murphy of Lincolnton; five grandchildren, Tammy Aderhold and husband Michael, David Douglas Scronce and wife Kelly, Christopher “Heath” Rippy and fiancé April Wellman, Tyona Brackett, and Timothy Shane Brackett and wife Trisha; and five great-grandchildren, Taz Scronce, Gage Scronce, Bo Rippy, Lucas Howell, and Sayler Brackett.
