Obituaries

Mr. Gary Curtis Neal, Sr., age 63, of Landers Chapel Church Road in Lincolnton, died on Thursday, January 3, 2013. 

His funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Bethel Lutheran Church with Pastor Steven King officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 pm prior to the service at the church. 

Mr. Neal was born January 16, 1949 in Lincoln County to the late George C. Neal, Jr. and Mabel Kiser Neal.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Libby Towery and a brother-in-law, Gene Payseur. He was retired from Timken Company with over 25 years of service.    

He is survived by his wife, Judy Schronce Neal of the home; one son, Gary Curtis Neal, Jr. and wife Lynn of Lincolnton; one daughter, Amy Lynn Neal of Lincolnton; two sisters, Brenda Payseur and Gail Cabiness and husband Harold, all of Lincolnton; a brother, Mike Neal and wife Sheila of Bessemer City; a brother-in-law, Boyd Towery, Jr. of Lincolnton; grandchildren, Keely Heath and Nathan Heath; and a number of nieces and nephews.
