Obituaries

Mr. Walter Glenn Avery age 83 of 325 South Cedar Street Lincolnton passed away on January 8, 2013.

A memorial service will be held 2:00pm  Saturday January 12, 2013 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev.  Mike Davis officiating.

Mr. Avery was a native of Lincoln County born on November 11, 1929, son of the late John and Marjorie Leonard Avery.  Mr. Avery worked for the City of Lincolnton as supervisor of the electrical department for many years before retiring. He also served the citizens of Lincolnton as a volunteer fireman for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Riley Avery, three brothers Bill Avery, Vance Avery Sr. and Everette Lee Avery.

Survivors include: one son Doug Avery and wife Jayne of Lincolnton; one daughter, Glenda Avery of Lincolnton; one brother, Leonard Avery of Lincolnton; three grandchildren, Julie Ingle, Johnathon Crowe, and Katy Avery; and three great grandchildren.
