Obituaries

Rev. Ernest John Sisk, age 86, of 5160 King Wilkinson Road in Denver, died on Tuesday, January 15, 2013.

His funeral service will be 3:00 pm on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Denver Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Griggs officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 2:45 pm prior to the service at the church. 

Rev. Sisk was born June 3, 1926 in Lincoln County to the late Roy Franklin and Nellie Houk Sisk.  He retired as pastor emeritus at Denver Baptist Church. 

He is survived by three daughters, Joyce S. Roberts and husband Earl and Sandra S. Jennings and husband Donald, all of Lincolnton, and Brenda S. Hallman and husband Vaughn of Denver; one son, Gary Sisk and wife Fay of Conover, NC; two brothers, Bob Sisk and Graham Sisk, both of Lincolnton; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Denver Baptist Church Building Fund, 3549 Highway 16, North, Denver, NC  28037.
